Patriotic Society Memberships: Proof for Acceptance
Amelia Carter Kennedy employed the services of a genealogist,
Mrs. Elisha Edgerton Rogers of Norwich Connecticut, to research her lines
and provide proof of critical points so that she could apply for membership
in various patriotic societies. This page contains links to scanned copies
of some of this proof. It was verified by judges, county clerks and others.

in spelling) Brown were married December 6 - 1748. Stephen, son of Joseph
and Phebe Butts was born June 15 - 1749.

April 13, 1731. Deborah, wife of John Carter, died March 9, 1755. Mr. John
Carter died August 26,, 1776, aged 68. Joseph, son of John and Deborah
Carter, was born July 18, 1736. Joseph Carter and Patience Pellet were
married Oct. 3, 1762. Phinehas (this name has many spelling variations),
son of Joseph and Patience Carter, was born Nov. 23, 1766.
